SA: Divers to join search for missing swimmer

Police divers are expected to join the search for a 17-year-old swimmer, missing in
waters off MIDDLETON, south of Adelaide.

Police say the teenager is believed to have been caught in a rip yesterday afternoon
while swimming with a friend.

The friend made it to shore and raised the alarm but a search failed to find him.

Checks of the beach area this morning have also been unsuccessful.

Locals say the beach where the teenager went missing has a reputation for dangerous rips.
